FIELD: criminology. SUBSTANCE: method involves detecting papillary lines in all specific points, detecting for all papillary lines their curvature and bend direction, drawing a vector, which starts from corresponding specific point and is tangent to papillary line that is generatrix for this specific point, rotating a scanning line around chosen center, which is one of specific points. Rotation starts from vector running from chosen specific point. All specific points are selected in series. When scanning is intersecting a specific point during rotation, angle coordinates of scanning line and angle from starting position of scanning line to vector that runs through this specific point are recorded. Metric distance and number of wedge lines of papillary pattern between given rotation center and found specific point are also recorded. Scale characteristics, which are measured as average distance between papillary lines in close proximity of chosen specific point, and topological characteristics of papillary pattern are taken into account by this method. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities for description of papillary pattern. 3 cl, 12 dwg
