FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: phacogenic needle can be used for surgical ultrasonic treatment of cataract. Phacogenic needle has cylinder with longitudinal channel; it is provided with thread at proximal end to be fastened to ultrasonic oscillator. Angle α of skew of working surface at distal end of phacogenic needle is disposed within 30°-90° to longitudinal axis of cylinder. Working surface has protrusion going out of external surface of cylinder. Protrusion is disposed at angle β within 15°-90° to longitudinal axis of phacogenic needle and it has height up to one diameter of the needle. Transition from cylinder's wall to protrusion is made smooth. Ends of protrusion are rounded. Along total working surface, excluding point of protrusion, skew of wall of cylinder is made at acute angle α. Distal end of cylinder is curved at angle δ of 0°-60° to longitudinal axis of cylinder.
EFFECT: reduced traumatism; shorter time for operation.
