FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medicine and surgical ophthalmologic instruments and can be used at cataract phacoemulsification with a solid nucleus. The microspatula for cataract phacoemulsification contains a handle and a working part bent to the handle. The working part is supplied with a polymeric attachment in the form of a tube. The tube supports an end face of the working part and is supplied by external and internal facets on the free extremity of a tube and two triangular with an angle no more than 90° cuts from the opposite sides of attachment depth less than distance between end faces of attachment and working part. Thus there is a reduction of traumatism of surgical procedure for eye structures. The microspatula has a polymeric handpiece which allows working in immediate contact with an ultrasonic handpiece of the phacoemulsificator, considerably enlarges efficiency of destruction of the lens nucleus of any hardness. Dense pressing of fragments of the lens nucleus by means of the offered microspatula to an inlet opening of the phacoemulsification handpiece interferes with effect of pushing away and as the result occurs fast achievement of the occlusion and an effective utilisation of energy of ultrasound.

EFFECT: efficiency increase of phacoemulsification of solid brown layered cataracts and service life augmentation of phacoemulsification handpiece; reliability of bracing of fragments of a lens nucleus that simplifies the process of their excision.
