FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology and can be used for cataract extraction by method of ultrasonic phacoemulsification. Instrument contains case with placed in it waveguide, consisting of concentrator of ultrasonic fluctuations with needle on working end, paired number of piezo elements, forming straight circular cylinder and bearing sleeve in the centre of which canal for aspiration of liquid from eye passes. Between case and concentrator there is a cavity, made with possibility of its filling with irrigation solution. Each of piezo elements is made in form of cylinder and has one base, located at 90° angle to central axis of waveguide, the second one being located at angle from 5 to 15° to the first base, with pairs of piezo elements being located relative to each other with displacement around central axis of wave conductor by angle from 0 to 180°.
EFFECT: application of invention reduces degree of phenomenon of "repulsion" expression, increases time of stay of crystalline lens fragments in the field of efficient ultrasound impact, ensures concentration of cavitation cloud near the butt end of hollow needle and increases cutting ability of ultrasonic instrument.
