FIELD: civil engineering. SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing wooden parts to be used in housing construction includes mounting of log in center clamps on carriage, cylindering of the log and shaping of cross section of the part by means of shaped cutter and cylindrical mill. The shaped cutter and the cylindrical mill cut lengthwise groove, form the flat face and cut crosswise radius recesses at the ends of the stationary cylindrical blank. Cylindering of the log is performed while the log is rotated and at the same time moved towards the milling cutters. The lengthwise groove and the flat face are cut separately by milling. Milling of the flat face is performed after cutting of the crosswise radius recesses, and before cutting the crosswise radius recesses the blank is positioned relative to the cutting tool by moving it lengthwise. After finishing cutting of the lengthwise groove the blank is turned together with the center clamps through 90 deg relative its longitudinal axis.
