SUBSTANCE: the device contains generator of sinusoidal oscillations for feeding alternating current signal into bio-sensor cell, containing a sample, "current-voltage" transformer, phase-shifter, generator of rectangular oscillations, synchronous detector, and low frequency sensor, which outputs signal proportional to effective electric capacity of bio-sensor cell, which is proportional to volume of sample. Also, "current-voltage" transformer outputs a signal, defining type of sample contained in bio-sensor cell. Method includes feeding sinusoidal oscillation into bio-sensor cell, shifting phase of resulting signal, creating rectangular oscillation, synchronous with sinusoidal oscillation, resulting signal is demodulated with usage of rectangular oscillation and demodulated signal is filtered to create a signal, proportional to effective electric capacity of bio-sensor cell. With usage of data of bio-sensor device and method it is possible to determine type of sample and to measure levels of glucose for broad range of sample volumes with increased precision.
