FIELD: nuclear engineering; holding new fuel assemblies charged into reactor in extreme bottom position.
SUBSTANCE: proposed shield plate installed in reactor vessel neck has charging holes closed with plugs. Shield plate is attached to reactor support plate by means of studs. Plugs are self-locking members made in the form of body accommodating rod joined with slider by means of pin engageable with spring. Holes of shield plate and those of reactor support plate are aligned. Stud bead is made above thread of its bottom section, and top section of stud is threaded. Diameters of studs and bead equal those of threaded holes in top an bottom parts of plate, respectively. Plug body is made in the form of bushing with bead and hole to receive rod. Top part of rod has hole with slot and facet. Rod has bead, flats, and shaped through slot. The latter has two straight sections along rod symmetry axis and tilted section. Slider is made in the form of round plate with flats made on its sides, and slot is provided in its center.
EFFECT: ability of keeping new fuel assemblies in extreme bottom position even under unexpected external impacts.
