FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, possibly production of aluminum by electrolysis.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes beam-collector with vertical doubled walls, upper and lower rigidity bands and ducts for collecting and removing gases provided with suction windows. Inner cavity of beam-collector is divided by means of partitions in vertical direction by several gas-suction zones. Gases are sucked from separate zones through gradually narrowed gas conduits providing rotation of gas flows by 90°. In order to control gas volume from separate gas-suction zone, rotary dampers are mounted in end portions of partitions.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of apparatus for collecting and removing gases from cells provided with single-side or double-side gas suction and arranged crosswise or lengthwise in electrolysis housing.
