Abstract RU 2316620 C1

FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, namely apparatus for collecting and removing gases from aluminum cell at producing aluminum by electrolysis.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes beam-collector with double vertical walls and gas-passing variable cross section ducts whose height increases to end of beam-collector connected with gas scrubbing system. Between vertical walls of beam-collector there are plates restricting inlet ducts in zone of punch action and metal sampling and if necessary in other zones connecting space under shelter with gas passing ducts. Nozzles of inlet ducts provide initial speeds and inlet angle of gas flows to gas passing ducts. Relation of surface areas of outlet cross section of nozzle and cross section of gas passing duct in zone of outlet cross section of nozzle, is decreased towards end connected with gas scrubbing system.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of gas removal along the whole length of cell, lowered gas dynamic resistance of system.
