DEVICE FOR COLLECTION AND REMOVAL OF GASES FROM ALUMINIUM ELECTROLYSIS CELL Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC C25C3/22

Abstract RU 2603524 C1

FIELD: gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for collection and removal of gases from aluminium electrolysis unit. In device in gas channels there are plates, dividing gas channels into four intake zone of anode gases - two at end of beam-manifold, connected to gas cleaning system, and two at end opposite to end of beam-manifold, connected to gas cleaning system. Height of gas channel in each of four zones decreases to end of beam-manifold, opposite to end connected to gas cleaning system, and height of installation of fairings above inlet holes increases. Ratio of installation height of last fairing in area of end of beam-manifold connected to gas cleaning system, to gas channel height in said section equals ratio of height of first fairing in zone at end of beam-manifold, opposite to end connected to gas cleaning system, to height of gas channel in said section.

EFFECT: invention enables to align gas-dynamic resistance in separate zones of gas removal system with partial depressurisation of electrolysis cell during replacement of anodes and metal tapping.
