FIELD: electrochemistry, namely designs of electrolyzers for producing hydrogen and oxygen by electrolysis of water.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes technological lines for supplying water and electrolyte and for removing electrolysis products; electrolyzer having housing with upper and lower lids made of electrically conducting material and mounted in shaft joined to rotation drive unit and having ducts for supplying electrolyte solution and removing electrolysis products; short-circuited electrodes one of which is secured to shaft and other is formed by inner surface of housing. Line for removing electrolysis products includes communicated successively apparatus for pumping off electrolysis products and separator. Line for supplying water and electrolyte includes reservoirs for water and for electrolyte, unit for controlling water consumption, valves, mixer and heat exchanger. Apparatus is provided with electromagnetic system having fixed magnets in the form of discs mounted in parallel over upper and lower lids of housing; mechanically joined with them magnetic circuit having excitation winding electrically connected with pulse generator and voltage converter. Gas analyzer is arranged in line for removing electrolysis products; inlet of said analyzer is connected to outlet of apparatus for pumping off electrolysis products and outlet of analyzer is connected to apparatus for regulating water flow rate. Short-circuited electrode arranged in shaft is in the form cylinder with radial grooves.
EFFECT: simplified design of electrolyzer, lowered revolution number of electrolyzer rotation, its improved efficiency.
