FIELD: environment protection; immobilization of liquid radioactive wastes in stable solid medium.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for case-hardening liquid radioactive wastes includes following procedures: liquid radioactive wastes are fed to tank and their level is measured; liquid radioactive wastes are mixed up within tank; metered amount of gas is supplied to tank from external source; liquid radioactive wastes are discharged to batcher through discharge tube and their level within batcher is measured; batcher content is mixed up; liquid radioactive wastes are discharged from batcher while raising pressure therein by conveying gas from external gas supply; cement and additives are fed to container through tube and each batch of compound is mixed up within container. Proposed device implementing this method has tank 1 and batcher 5 equipped with mixers and level gages, as well as container 14 accommodating mixer. Assembly 13 for feeding cement and additives is connected to container. External gas pressure supplies 4 and 9 are connected to tank and batcher. First discharge tube provides communication between tank and batcher 7; second one is mounted to provide communication between batcher and container 11. Discharge tube is provided with expansion units 8 and 12. Tank has pipes for feeding liquid radioactive wastes.
EFFECT: ability of case-hardening liquid radioactive wastes of different salt content and viscosity at a time, setting optimal proportion of cement compound ingredients in each container, ensuring production of stable water-proof cement blocks.
