METHOD AND DEVICE FOR NON-INVASIVE MEASUREMENT OF FUNCTION OF ENDOTHELIUM Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61B5/295 A61B5/22

Abstract RU 2309668 C1

FIELD: medicine; functional diagnostics.

SUBSTANCE: transmural pressure in extremity is reduced and amplitudes of plethysmographic signals are registered at different pressures. Pressure is found at which pressure the amplitude of plethysmographic signal is maximal. Reduction in pressure is made till achieving value corresponding to preset percent of maximal amplitude. Then occlusal test is performed in cuff applied proximal from located part of extremity. Then pressure is created, which pressure exceeds systolic pressure of tested patient by at least of 50 mercury mm. Occlusion is performed under preset condition for at least 5 minutes. Device has sensor unit made with two channels for registration of pulse curves received from peripheral arteries. Pressure creating unit is made for creation of step increase of pressure. Electronic unit is made for measurement of pressure in cuff, which pressure corresponds to maximal amplitude of plethysmographic signal, which has preset percent from maximal amplitude. Sensor unit is connected with electronic unit; pressure creation unit is connected with output of electronic unit.

EFFECT: improved truth of estimation of function of endothelium independently on patient's arterial pressure.
