SUBSTANCE: one should fulfill multiplanar reconstructions of axial sections in femoral area and that of hip joints. Then it is necessary to measure the thickness, the areas of cross section and muscular density according to certain technique and units followed by evaluating the degree of atrophy due to applying the ratio of thickness, cross section area and density values in the muscles of affected and intact segments. The innovation enables to evaluate the atrophy of femoral muscles in case of contractures of hip and knee joints.
