FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: bone density is determined by Hounsfield scale within a diaphysis by computed tomography as shown by a topogram of a scanning range on axial sections and multiplanar reconstructions in three points located in the outer, inner and osteon layers of the cortical plate along the anterior, posterior, lateral and medial surfaces in the upper and lower one-thirds of shin. The measured values are used to derive average densities of the outer, inner and osteon layers. If the density of the outer layer of the cortical plate at the end of the fixation period is not less than 600 HU, one year after the apparatus removal not less - than 1100 HU, while the relation of the densities of the outer, osteon and inner layer is 1:1.2:0.9, the cortical plate is considered to have a normal density.
EFFECT: method provides a qualitative assessment of the density parameters of the cortical plate of long bones in the course of treatment and finding its X-ray morphological characteristics taking into account its zonal structure.
