METHOD FOR PLANNING SURGICAL CORRECTION OF SCOLIOTIC DEFORMATION Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61B17/56 A61B6/00

Abstract RU 2309692 C2

FIELD: medicine, surgery.

SUBSTANCE: it is necessary to carry out vertebral roentgenography, determine apical and terminal vertebrae, localization and the length of curvature arches and contra-curvature arches according to spondylograms, measure the values of scoliotic deformation, the angle of deformation by Cobb's technique, rotation of apical vertebra. One should evaluate the maturity degree skeleton's bony tissue according to Risser's technique and the completeness of vertebral growth. One should calculate mobility of the deformed vertebral column and the length of spondylodesis. It is necessary to detect the possibility to carry out dorsal, ventral or bilateral correction according to the values of the length and localization of scoliotic arch, the angle of deformation according to Cobb's technique, the mobility and the completeness of vertebral growth. It is important to choose the type and the degree of correction, calculate the values of vertebrae rotation from apical towards terminal arches of curvature, determine the nomenclature of calculated parameters of vertebrae of scoliotic arch, choose the type-size of metal construction, moreover, one should evaluate the state of terminal apophyses of vertebrae in thoracic department according to spondylograms in lateral projection, and in lumbar department - according to spondylograms in direct projection. The innovation provides higher accuracy and quality of pre-surgical preparation to the correction of scoliotic deformation due to matching the type of access, correction and fixation and choosing the type-size of metal construction.

EFFECT: higher efficiency.
