FIELD: medicine, neurosurgery.
SUBSTANCE: the innovation deals with implantation of ventricular catheter into the cavity of cerebral lateral ventricle followed by applying a pump, fulfilling the incision in supraclavicular area and horizontal incision on anterior abdominal wall in mesogastric area, applying peritoneal catheter from horizontal incision on anterior abdominal wall up to the pump and introducing a distal end of peritoneal catheter into abdominal cavity. Moreover, it is necessary to fulfill additional horizontal incision of skin and subcutaneous fiber upon anterior abdominal wall being about 7-8 cm below against horizontal incision and additional vertical microlaparotomic incision of skin, subcutaneous fiber, muscles, peritoneum which should be located slightly below and medially against additional horizontal incision. Through vertical incision one should introduce elastic tube with an outlet tank into abdominal cavity, moreover, this tank should be fixed towards parietal peritoneum. Through additional horizontal incision it is necessary to form a canal obliquely from the top downwards and from the front backwards to introduce the elastic tube through it and guide it in subcutaneous fiber up to the site of the exit of the distal end of peritoneal catheter which should be placed telescopically in elastic tube and let it down up to the bottom of the outlet tank followed by suturing all the incisions layer-by-layer. The innovation enables to prolong the terms of bypass system's functioning, carry out revision and remove the complications occurred.
