FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method is intended to be used in electrosmelting of oxidized nickel ores to produce ferronickel. Electrosmelting is performed in two-stream mode. In one of streams, ore is fused with carbon-containing reducing agent to form poor ferronickel with nickel content less than 8%. In the other stream, ore is fused with poor ferronickel produced in the first stream to yield enriched ferronickel with nickel content higher than 15%. Ratio of metal iron quantity in poor ferronickel to quantity of ferri-form iron in second-stream ore is 1:(1.5-2.5). For producing poor ferronickel, magnesia or mixed ore is utilized , whereas raw material for producing enriched ferronickel is iron ore. EFFECT: optimized raw material choice. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 6 tbl
