FIELD: engineering of systems for tracking moving objects.

SUBSTANCE: method includes generating frames of video image, computing coordinates of center of object being tracked on an image, determining coordinates of object in coordinate system which is fixedly oriented relatively to Earth surface and moving coordinate system, generation of signal for electric motors to form required angular positions of frames of executive device, where in the fixedly oriented system of coordinates, with consideration of delay which occurs during processing of images, introduced are inter-frame determining of predicted coordinate of object, prediction of object coordinates in case of loss of information about object being tracked on the image, creation of required angles of positioning of frames of executive device with consideration of compensation of rotation of background-target situation on the image.

EFFECT: decreased object tracking errors.
