FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: pincers can be used for performing capsulorexis and for fragmenting core of crystalline lens in front chamber of eye by means of mechanical phako-fragmentation of cataract. Device has two tightly connected branches with working jaws; inner surface of branches is made in form of wedge. Working jaws are curved at angle of 40-50° in relation to longitudinal axis of branches; jaws end with sharpened beak-shaped teeth turned inside. Angle of slope of beak-shaped teeth relatively longitudinal axis of pincers is equal to 55-65°. Instrument can be comfortably introduced inside and manipulations can be performed in front chamber while eliminating mechanical pressure onto back capsule of crystalline lens.
EFFECT: reduced risk of intra and post-operational complications.
