FIELD: electrical engineering; producing lithium-treated cobalt oxide used as cathode material for lithium-ion batteries.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for synthesizing lithium-treated cobalt oxide (LiCoO2) incorporating salts of lithium and cobalt oxide includes mixing of source components in molar proportion of Li:Co = 1:1, annealing at temperature of 600-900 °C, and cooling down followed by crushing. Mixture of source materials is subjected in advance to mechanical activation for 0.5-3.0 minutes at specific power capacity per unit mass of source components being 7-9 W/t; ratio of mass of source components to that of activating bodies is 1:3 - 1:8; source components are heated at a rate of 150-350 deg./h, annealing takes 8-12 h, and cooling is conducted at a rate of 130-200 deg./h; after that lithium-treated cobalt oxide is crushed in inert gas or dry air environment.
EFFECT: reduced degree of specific discharge capacity degradation.
