FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, specifically to a method of producing surface-modified lithiated cobalt oxide (LiCoO2), used as cathode material for lithium-ion batteries. Method of producing surface-modified lithiated cobalt oxide, which involves mixing powders of initial components - lithium salts and cobalt oxide, annealing, cooling and surface modification, to a mixture of powders of initial components added doping additive in form of oxides of Mg, Ti and Al in total amount of 1.0 to 5.5 % (wt) relative to mass of mixture of powders of initial components, process annealing-synthesis doped LiCoO2 is carried out in two steps: at first a mixture of powders of initial components are annealed at temperature 500-750 °C, then produced mixture is stirred and annealed at 900-1,100 °C; surface modification of obtained powder of doped LiCoO2 is carried out using isopropoxide Al (its alcohol solution) so that content of aluminium oxide coating Al2O3 is 4-5 % in terms of weight of LiCoO2, with time of heat treatment of coated and dried LiCoO2 0.8-1.2 h.
EFFECT: high energy density of lithium-ion battery and service life thereof due to reduced losses of specific capacity during electrochemical cycling with improved cathode material.
