FIELD: inorganic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to inorganic chemistry, in particular to the field of obtaining a powder of lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2) used as a cathode material for lithium-ion batteries. In the method for producing lithium cobalt oxide, which includes mixing the initial components of lithium salts, cobalt oxide and additives, annealing in the furnace in two stages, after the first stage, the resulting charge is mixed and annealed again with subsequent cooling. According to the invention, one or more alloying additives of nanostructured thermally decomposable compounds based on salts or hydroxides of metals Mg, Al, Ti with a decomposition temperature below 660°C in the atomic ratio of metal to Co up to 0.07 are introduced into the mixture of the initial components of lithium salts, cobalt oxide, the mixture is subjected to dispersion using a mechanochemical activator at a specific power of 5-30 W/g, for 2.0-10 minutes, the initial components of lithium salts and cobalt oxide are taken in molar ratio Li:Co = (1.0-1.02):1.0.
EFFECT: reduction in the degree of degradation of the specific discharge capacity.
