FIELD: processes and equipment for electric arc welding of metals at industrial and domestic condition.

SUBSTANCE: electric arc welding method comprises steps of applying sign-variable pulses of welding current to welding electrode through insulated parallel electric conductors for branching electric current. Front duration of pulses of welding electric current is set in range 3.0 - 3.5 mcs; electric breakdown between welding electrode and welded metal is realized by voltage with frequency 35 - 45 kHz. Inlet rectifier of apparatus is connected with inlet of controlled ballast resistor whose outlet is connected to inlet of capacitive accumulator. Outlet of said accumulator is connected to inlet of HF-inverter whose control terminals are connected to outlet of driver whose inlet is connected to outlet of PWM-controller. Inlet of PWM controller is connected to outlet of unit for forming protection and control signal. Outlet of said unit is connected to electric current pickup connected to primary winding of HF pulse transformer. Secondary windings of said transformer are connected to welding electrode through shielded cable made of arranged in parallel and mutually insulated conductors combined to cords from which windings of pulse HF-transformer are made. Number of conductors in said cords exceeds 10.

EFFECT: enhanced quality of welding by means of HF electric currents at minimum heat losses with use of small-size light welding apparatus.
