FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed automatic coiler is designed for continuous winding of long length materials, particularly, cable from large-size drums onto frameless coils for convenience in operation. It has two coaxial drums, being temporary carcass for winding of cables, spindles, two movable platforms to provide vertical travel of drums along guides, actuators providing linear movement of platforms, spreader designed for feeding and laying of cable on drum neck, no-support unit providing automation of continuous winding-on process, mechanism to cut off cable after termination of winding, manipulator being mechanism for shifting ready coils from place of winding, two table designed for receiving ready coils from manipulator, lifting device designed for transportation of ready coils from one table to the other. Invention provides constant velocity of winding and forming of frameless coils with maximum preservation of form and tightness of winding owing to vertical arrangement of drums one over the other on one axle of rotation so that external mechanical actions, when releasing coils from temporary carcass, are excluded owing to bringing carcass out of core of wound coil in turn.
EFFECT: improved quality of produced frameless coils.
