FIELD: engineering of transformation equipment, possible use in various secondary power supplies in range of powers from 3 kilowatts to hundreds of kilowatts, for example in electric welding machines for air arc welding, plasmatrons, arc electric furnaces and other devices which require stabilization of power in load.
SUBSTANCE: thyristor inverter represents a semi-bridge with two serially connected capacitors on one shoulder and two serially connected thyristors on the other shoulder. Transformer type load is included in alternating current diagonal. Commutation unit constituted by throttle with middle point and two commutating capacitors is introduced to thyristor inverter.
EFFECT: reduced mass-dimensional characteristics, ensured serviceability of semi-bridge thyristor inverter across whole spectrum of loads ranging from standby mode to maximal load.
