FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Iron-based pre-alloyed steel powder is produced to contain less than 0.3 wt % of Mn and at least one element of the following group: 0.2-3.5 wt % of Cr, 0.05-1.2 wt % of Mo and 0.05-0.4 wt % of V, and max. 0.5 wt % of unavoidable impurities. Said steel powder is mixed with lubricant and graphite and compacted at 400-2000 MPa. Obtained blank is sintered in reducing atmosphere at 1000-1400°C and nitride-hardened in nitrogen-bearing atmosphere at 400-600°C and cured for less than 3 hours. Produced part features wear resistance at sliding contact and availability of lubrication that ensures safe wear at Hertz pressure making at least 800 MPa and sliding speed of 2.5 m/s for 100 seconds.
EFFECT: wear resistance comparable with that of parts made from chilled iron.
