FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy; technology of processing aluminum-containing raw materials.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes leaching-out procedure for obtaining aluminate solution and red mud. Aluminate solution and lime-containing compound are mixed for preparation of material on base of hydrated tricalcium aluminate. This material is prepared in presence of seed obtained preliminarily by mixing aluminate solution and milk of lime at temperature of 40-60°C for 20-40 hours or seed made from aluminum hydroxide and red mud. Seed for mixing the aluminate solution and lime-containing compound is fed at rate of 2-60 g/l. Material thus obtained is applied on filter and aluminate solution is subjected to filtration. Aluminum hydroxide is separated from cleaned aluminate solution. After filtration, material of layer is directed for leaching-out.

EFFECT: facilitated procedure and increased productivity.
