FIELD: method for performing a so-called blind transition during inter-system and inter-frequency transition in mobile communication systems.

SUBSTANCE: in accordance to the invention, mobile station is provided with radio-signals from several base stations, in other words, it can receive signals from several other base stations aside from servicing station. Mobile station measures time of passage of signals received on air interface from base stations. Measured values of passage time are transferred to one of base stations. After that on the side of mobile communication network on basis of transferred data about time of passage, position of mobile station is determined. Then by means of database on basis of determined position at least one fitting base station is selected for inter-system or inter-frequency transition, and data of selected base station required for transition are transferred to mobile station. On basis of this information mobile station may perform transition to selected base station.

EFFECT: increased efficiency.
