SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and devices to support configuration of measurement gaps template for user equipment (91), which requires measurement gaps for inter-frequency measurement. For this purpose a radio network node (81) receives from user equipment (91) an instruction (85), that the user equipment (91) is getting ready for inter-frequency measurement for positioning, besides, for inter-frequency measurement the measurement gaps are required. The radio network node (81) may detect the template of measurement gaps for inter-frequency measurement and may transmit information (86) to the user equipment to initiate use of a certain template of measurement gaps in the user equipment (91). Alternatively, the user equipment (91) itself configures the template of measurement gaps on the basis of preset rules.
EFFECT: increased volume of radio resources accessible for inter-frequency measurements.
