FIELD: biotechnology, molecular biology, genetic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to modified toxins Cry3A and nucleotide sequences encoding thereof. Method involves fusion of site recognized by cathepsin G that can be recognized by insect-target intestine protease to at least one nucleic acid sequence that encodes toxin Cry3A. Then chimeric construct is designed used for transformation of bacterial or vegetable cell comprising one of modified nucleotide sequences and recombinant vector comprising this chimeric construct. Maize transgenic plant is prepared that comprises indicated nucleotide sequence and displaying resistance to Nematocera west or north flea. Invention provides effective control of pests, in particular, against Nematocera west or north flea.
EFFECT: valuable biological properties of toxins.
