FIELD: radio engineering; shielding antennas of mainly flat antenna arrays against environmental disturbances.
SUBSTANCE: proposed multilayer radio-transmissive antenna shelter has N thin parallel layers and M = N - 1 thick filler layers placed in-between and made in the form of barriers disposed perpendicular to thin layers. Thin layers and barriers are made of one or more layers of same insulating material, such as adhesive-impregnated glass-reinforced fabric. Barriers are disposed to constitute cellular structure of regular hexahedrons measuring smaller than half the wavelength in free space. Equivalent dielectric constant of N thin layers is higher than that of M thick filler layers.
EFFECT: reduced polarization distortions of radio-frequency transmissive shelter.
