SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composition used in preparing the preparative ready formulation for gastrointestinal administration before surgery operations in aims for decreasing or preventing risk of postoperative complications. Also, invention relates to using the composition comprising green tea extract and at least one NO donor representing a substrate for NO-synthase, and/or one NO donor precursor for preparing the preparative ready formulation used in gastrointestinal administration before surgery operations in order to decrease or prevent risk of postoperative complications. Also, invention relates to a method for prophylaxis of risk of postoperative complications in operable patients comprising gastrointestinal administration of composition containing green tea extract and at least one NO donor representing a substrate for NO-synthase, and/or one NO donor precursor before surgery operation. Also, invention relates to using the preparative ready formulation comprising green tea extract and at least one NO donor representing substrate for NO-synthase, and/or one NO donor precursor for prophylaxis or decreasing risk of postoperative complications after surgery operations by gastrointestinal administration of this formulation. The preparative formulation comprising the abovementioned composition is effective for gastrointestinal administration before surgery operations for decreasing or preventing risk of postoperative complications.
