SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the ecology protection and may be used for production of the activated carbon at the heat and power electric generating plants with the plasma technology application. The solid raw is fed into the plasma solution, in which cross-section there is the full profile of the temperatures from 2000 up to 2300°С. Further the stream of the gas and the solid particles is fed into the muffle chamber, where it is exposed to action of the activating gas and after that the stream of the gas and the solid particles is fed in the chamber of separation. The large particles are fed in the activation camera, where the combined process of the pyrolysis and activation of the coal is conducted at the temperature of 400-800°С within 20 minutes, and the small particles together with the gas are fed to purification. The invention ensures production of the activated carbon from the different coals by means of the small-size plasma installation.
