FIELD: thermal processing equipment and methods. SUBSTANCE: method involves drying fuel; heating by mixing fuel with gas- steam mixture in heat-exchanger-adsorber and subjecting to pyrolysis in fluidized bed reactor by solid heat-carrier to obtain semicoke directed through overflow pipeline into activator and gas-steam mixture directed into heat-exchanger- adsorber; activating semicoke in activator by activating agent obtained from burnt portion of gas-steam mixture in activator muffle; delivering first portion of activator solid phase to gas-distributing grid for creating filtering fluidized bed adapted for removal of oxygen from activating agent and for improving activation conditions; directing second portion of solid phase from activator into pyrolysis reactor as solid heat-carrier; feeding third portion of solid phase from activator into gas volume of pyrolysis reactor; discharging resultant ready product - activated carbon- from activator and burning up activation gases in activator; directing produced gas phase into drier. Method and apparatus for obtaining carbonaceous sorbents may be used in branches of industry lacking activated carbons.
