FIELD: microwave antenna engineering; developing radar aperture antennas.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device implementing method for reducing effective dissipation surface of antennas is made in the form of three-layer heterogeneous structure disposed in front of antenna; this structure is placed in antenna feed and structure proper is assembled of first bidimensional periodic lattice of conductive strips or bars of conductivity B1, insulating layer of thickness d1, and refractive index n1 as well as second bidimensional periodic lattice of conductive strips or bars of conductivity B2, both arranged in tandem; mentioned parameters of layers are chosen to ensure desired modules and phases of inherent transmitter signal coefficient of reflection from antenna and signal incident on antenna using definite mathematical expressions.
EFFECT: reduced effective dissipation surface and enhanced sensitivity (enlarged range) of radars.
