FIELD: vacuum cleaner furnished with detachably mounted dust catching apparatus.

SUBSTANCE: vacuum cleaner has casing comprising suction force source and contaminants separator for separation of contaminant particles from drawn air by suction force, contaminant collector detachably positioned under contaminant separator within vacuum cleaner casing, locking unit for connecting and disconnecting contaminant separator, and handle unit to be gripped by user for carrying of vacuum cleaner. Handle unit is designed so as to prevent separator and collector from disconnection from each other during uncoupling thereof resulted from manipulations with locking unit. Handle unit has handle positioned on vacuum cleaner casing, lever positioned on contaminant separator and contacting with one side of handle, lever connector positioned on vacuum cleaner casing, with which connector lever is to be connected and from which it is to be disconnected, and second flexible member pressing said lever in direction coinciding with direction of disconnection of lever from lever connector. When user holds grip in vertical position, lever is connected with lever connector to prevent contaminant separator and contaminant collector from disconnection. According to another version of vacuum cleaner, contaminant separator is positioned for rotation within vacuum cleaner casing. Such construction prevents unintentional disconnection of separator from contaminants collector and discharge of contaminants to the outward during carrying of vacuum cleaner by user even when separator is not reliably secured with collector. On disconnection of separator from collector, only collector is withdrawn from vacuum cleaner casing.

EFFECT: simplified collector emptying procedure owing to lack of necessity for applying force in order to disconnect separator from collector, and provision for preventing spilling of contaminant particles from collector and mussing user's hands.
