FIELD: medicine, orthopedics.
SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with resecting carpal bones and shortening wrist's extensors. Moreover, it is necessary to fulfill mobilization and dissection of wrist's flexors from distal points of fixation. After that, depending upon the angle of deformation one should fulfill wedge resection of distal half of bones in proximal carpal row and proximal half of bones in distal carpal row at the bottom of wedge towards rear area at keeping radiocarpal and carpometacarpal joints of 1-5 fingers and liquidating an intercarpal joint. Then, via the site of osteotomy and radiocarpal joint at the position of wrist's rear flexion at the angle of 110° it is necessary to fulfill the fixation with two Kirschner's needles at intersection followed by shortening wrist's extensors due to their crimping. Wrist's flexors should be moved through subcutaneous tunnels along radial and elbow surface onto rear surface to suture them up to corresponding radial and elbow extensors of the wrist. The innovation enables to reconstruct the movements in radiocarpal joint, improve the function of wrist's extensors and fingers' flexors and decrease the number of relapses in older age.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy.
