FIELD: atomic industry; chemical industry; methods of production of uranium hexafluoride.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the technology of production and processing of the uranium hexafluoride and is intended for exclusion of the heat input and the losses of the hydrogen fluoride. The method of production of the uranium hexafluoride is exercised in the closed wasteless cycle, at which uranium protoxide-oxide is treated with the liquid hydrogen fluoride produced by the hydrolysis of the poor uranium hexafluoride. The treatment process is conducted in the rotating reactor at the temperature of 20-50°C and the excessive pressure up to 150 kPa, and the mother solution of the hydrogen fluoride produced after fluorination of the uranium protoxide-oxide is used at the hydrolysis of the poor uranium hexafluoride. The invention allows jointly in the closed cycle to solve two problems: to realize fluorination of U2О3 up to UF4·2UO2F2 by the liquid HF produced by the hydrolysis of the poor uranium hexafluoride and thereby to reduce the consumption of the elemental fluorine at the subsequent fluorination of the salt of the following composition UF4·2UO2F2 instead of U2О3 by 44 %, and also to carry out the hydrolysis of the poor uranium hexafluoride in the medium of the mother solution of HF at the stage of fluorination of U2O3.

EFFECT: the invention allows to exclusion of the heat input and the losses of the hydrogen fluoride at production and processing of the uranium hexafluoride.
