FIELD: agriculture, in particular, seed growing, may be used in pre-sowing treatment of seeds.

SUBSTANCE: method involves exposing seeds to gas plasma in inorganic gas medium or inorganic gas mixture medium at frequency of electric charge ranging between 1 and 40 MHz, electric charge power of 0.01-0.1 W/cm3 and inorganic gas pressure ranging between 0.2 and 1.13 Tor during 10-45 s; treating seeds during 8-17 min with water preliminarily activated in at least one of electrode chambers of at least one diaphragm electrolyzer. Apparatus for plasma treatment of plant seeds has plasma chamber equipped with charging hopper and discharge window, transportation mechanism positioned within plasma chamber, two electrodes, one of said electrodes being placed within plasma chamber above transportation mechanism, high-frequency generator connected to electrodes, at least one reservoir for inorganic gas and vacuum system, said reservoir and vacuum chamber being connected to plasma chamber, at least one chamber for activated water, and at least one diaphragm-type electrolyzer provided with power source and connected through at least one pipeline with one chamber for activated water.

EFFECT: improved quality of pre-sowing seed treatment procedure.
