FIELD: mechanics.

SUBSTANCE: cutting plate has symmetry axis and two main cutting edges located symmetrically relative thereto, two additional cutting edges and a transverse cutting edge. On tangential support surfaces there are ledges or slots, the side walls of which are located symmetrically relative to symmetry axis and at an angle thereto, the top part of which is located on opposite side from transverse cutting edge. Cutting tool includes housing with symmetry axis, in the socket of which a cutting plate is installed and fixed; symmetry axis of cutting plate when being installed in the socket coincides with housing symmetry axis. Housing socket is limited with two tangential support walls and axial support wall. In order to achieve the same effect, it is equipped with support element installed and fixed in the socket in axial support wall and having two protrusions, each of which has tangential walls for interacting the tangential support surface of cutting plate and tangential support wall of the socket and radial support wall for interacting the side wall of the ledge or slot of the cutting plate.
