FIELD: multiposition switch group for controlling locomotive traction motor voltage.
SUBSTANCE: proposed controller has base that mounts three frames with main and reversing camshafts incorporating control handles in-between, as well as group of cam contactors. Engagement of shafts is afforded by mechanical interlocking mechanism. Speed selector is coupled with main shaft; installed between the latter and its control handle is gear transmission whose gear ratio is higher than unity. Gear transmission wheel joined with control handle has greater diameter than main-shaft gear wheel. Gear of greater diameter is fitted onto axle and is free to rotate about its middle part which is offset relative to ends of this axle. Axle ends are coaxial but their diameters are different. Diameter of offset part of axle does not go beyond end of axle having grater diameter. Axle having offset middle part is secured in bracket. The latter has slit and hole to receive threaded screw for its fixation on axle. Axle of greater diameter has slot on its end for regulating gear engagement. Bracket is secured to controller base.
EFFECT: smoother variation of speed selector value and voltage across locomotive motors, reduced size due to disposing controller in control handle on plane convenient for driver.
