FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves applying intraoperative radiation therapy IORT with remote gamma-therapy RGT being added after pause with tissue irradiation being under control when planning IORT and RGT combinations, based on TDF factor values. Single IORT dose is judged to be equal to 10-15 Gy and it is complemented with RGT total focal dose of 30-40 Gy. TDF factor value is calculated from formula where Ds is the single IORT dose, Gy; Xs is the time interval between IORT and RGT, days; Df,i is the single RGT dose, Gy; Xf,i is the time interval between RGT sessions, days; Ks =(S/100)0.37 is the irradiation field area, cm2.
EFFECT: enabled operation within therapeutic dose boundaries; reduced risk of late radiation injuries; accelerated treatment course.
