FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and aims at combination therapy of colon cancer ensured by preoperative radiation therapy and major surgical procedure. The preoperative radiation therapy involves a primary tumour including 1st and 2nd regional metastases by daily slowing-down or gamma radiation three times a day "РОД" 5.5-6 Gy to "СОД" 16.5-18 Gy with two opposing fields. The extent of major surgical corresponds to tumour localisation. In process of operation a radiation field generator (applicator) is attached in an incisional wound, with intraoperative irradiation of central lymphatic basin dosed 18-20 Gy, accelerated electron energy 8.0-10 MeV.
EFFECT: disclosed therapy enables to prevent implant, lymphatic and hematogenous cancer spread resulted from surgical intervention, to prevent regional recurrence within central lymphatic basin, to reduce probability of recurrent disease.
