FIELD: railway transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to turbo trains with gas-turbine power plant and electric transmission. Proposed turboelectric train includes traction power plants consisting of sections of electric locomotives or electric trains and self-contained supply sections. The latter are made in form of mobile gas-turbine power plants installed on railway platform and connected to supply system through transformer. Train can contains also set of heat extraction equipment also mounted of railway platform. When turboelectric trains move along electrified sections of railways, traction motors are supplied from external system, and on non-electrified sections, from self-contained supply source. Power supply of external consumers at parking is provided by power plants of self-contained sections. Combination of electric and thermal energy supply can be provided. Proposed invention makes it possible to operate turboelectric train both on electrified and non-electrified sections of railway under most efficiency operating conditions for section and operate turboelectric train at parking as mobile low-power heat electric generation plant to supply electric and thermal energy to non-electrified objects near railway.
