Abstract RU 2319237 C1

FIELD: handling materials incorporating radioactive substances, that is, means for treatment of radioactive and aqueous solutions using electrochemical methods in atomic industry and waste water purification.

SUBSTANCE: radioactive solution is doped with chemical elements and heated. Then heated solution is irradiated with unipolar electromagnetic pulses of higher than 1 MW power for time shorter than 1 ns at repetition frequency of minimum 1 kHz. Proposed unit has case and rod with needles disposed in its center, as well as solution sprayer mounted in its top part and connected to heating device through pump and pipe connection. Unipolar electromagnetic pulse generator is disposed beyond case and connected by means of respective cables with case and rod. Case is provided with pipe connection for discharging gases produced in the course of treatment and pipe connection for evacuating sediment formed in the process.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of radioactive solution treatment due to strengthening electric field and enhancing radiation power, as well as due to preheating solution.
