FIELD: electrical engineering; supporting structures for high-voltage substations. SUBSTANCE: supporting structure has at least one member incorporating monolithic load-bearing insulating rod, tracking-resistant insulating shell, and metal terminators installed on either end of mentioned rod. Novelty is that monolithic load-bearing insulating rod is made of two insulating members; one of them is axial member and other is made in the form of fiberglass and polymeric binder based shell formed on axial member. Metal terminators are, essentially, flanges mounted with adjustable fit on rod ends and held strictly in parallel. Ground-end terminator is at least twice as long as that on high-voltage end. Proposed supporting structure is noted for high bending and torsional strength, electric strength, and definite height of insulating shell. It has more than ten-fold safety margin in bending strength and may be found useful as insulating support for high-voltage circuit breakers, disconnecting switches, busbar supports, and the like. EFFECT: reduced size, enhanced mechanical and electric strength, enlarged functional capabilities. 5 cl, 1 dwg
