METHOD FOR STABILIZING OF WASTES IN DEHYDRATED CERAMICS WITH CHEMICALLY BOUND PHOSPHATES (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC A62D3/00 B09B3/00 G21F9/16

Abstract RU 2320389 C2

FIELD: utilization of waste forms in ceramics with chemically bound phosphates for immobilization of wastes.

SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing suspension containing wastes, water, binder such as metal oxide, and phosphate binder; holding suspension for hardening so that hard hydrated matrix is formed; removing bound water from hard hydrated matrix, said process being commonly carried out by supplying heat to hardened matrix preferably in an amount sufficient for releasing of water bound within hydrated matrix but insufficient for evaporation of other water-free matrix components such as metals and radioactive components, with temperatures ranging between 100 C and 200 C being commonly considered as sufficient temperature range. According to another version, wastes and water are mixed before suspension preparing procedure, so that selected amount of water may evaporate from wastes and water mixture before procedure of preparing said suspension. Another subject-matter of invention is direct method for producing of dehydrated wastes, involving removing water by heating and mixing of suspension as it hardens. Also described in Specification are forms of wastes with ceramic matrix produced by mentioned above methods.

EFFECT: increased efficiency in producing of dehydrated forms of wastes having increased resistance to radiolysis and available in optimized volume.
