FIELD: lasing physics and optics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method that can be used in systems for solar energy conversion to laser radiation followed by its transfer to user depends on iodine reaction with fullerene molecules in triplet metastable state. Mixture of fullerene powder and iodine is exposed to broadband radiation source light resulting in heating and evaporation of mixture and driving of fullerene molecules to triplet metastable state. Metastable fullerene molecules enter in reaction with iodine molecules within working zone of laser and transfer their energy to iodine molecules causing dissociation of the latter and then transfer iodine atoms to metastable state 2P1/2.
EFFECT: facilitated procedure.
