FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: at the stage of pre-surgical planning one should calculate the angle α upon a spondylogram as the one between the line being parallel to the upper closing plate of vertebra's body and the line being tangential to the plane of posterior surface of the arch of the fixed vertebra that corresponds to the direction of introducing a screw in sagittal projection. Also, upon a computed tomogram one should determine the angle β as the one between the line from the top of spinous process up to the middle of vertebra's body and the line being tangential to median edge of vertebra's pedicle that corresponds to the direction of introducing a screw in axial projection. In the course of surgical interference it is necessary to control the direction for introducing the screws with the help of a goniometer applied so that its ray passes at the angle α, and the goniometer itself should be inclined against spinous process at the angle β, and a guiding awl should be applied parallel against the goniometer's ray. The innovation enables to exclude complications occurring at mistakes in the course of introducing the screws.
